Blood type and Sex-Linked Inheritance
Sex chromosomesIn humans the sex chromosomes comprise one pair of the total of 23 pairs of chromosomes. 22 pairs of chromosomes are called autosomes, the last pair is known as the sex chromosomes.
The “X” Chromosome
Important: Since males and females do not have the same sex chromosomes, there will be differences between the sexes in how these sex-linked traits —traits linked to genes located on the sex chromosomes—are expressed. Sex-linked traits usually refer to traits due to genes on the X chromosome. Examples:
